According to the current state of the art, COVID-19 infections in children are mostly mild and self-limiting. However, children under the age of 1 year seem to have a higher risk for a severe case of the infection. Patients with underlying heart disease are not known to inherit an additional risk to acquire a COVID-19 infection. Currently there are no data on COVID-19 in children with CHD. Therefore, no sound data are available on a detailed risk stratification.
